Cramming is never a good idea as it only increases your stress level and will most likely result in poor retention of information. Stay away from distractions. Get out of the house or your dorm and find a quiet place to study. Get a good rest before the exam day. Read and follow directions on the test carefully. Approach your instructor quietly if you need clarification on any questions.

Get a study partner or form a study group. With the ton of information that you need to learn, working with fellow students for a test, project or assignment will be very helpful. You can share notes and quiz each other. You can coach a friend on a subject he or she is having difficulty with and vice versa. If you are serious about your studies, then make sure you select study partners who share your commitment.

There are many required reading in class but you can also supplement this with your own research and study. Resources for nursing students abound on the Web where you can get comprehensive information on nursing studies and other study aids.
